Melanie Mikeske Adams

Melanie “Meme” Adams peacefully entered eternal rest on July 17, 2023, at 83 years old.

Melanie was born April 14, 1940, in Richmond Texas to Ruby and Elo Mikeska.  She was a long time resident of East Bernard, a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg and a very active member of the Golden Heirs Choir.  Melanie was a very talented florist for over 50 years, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, could be found two stepping on any local dance floor, was a shark on the dart board, and was always picking up a new crochet or sewing project.

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Adams, brothers Charles Mikeska and Gary Mikeska, son-in-law Tad Dorsten and grandson Shawn LaFrance.

Surviving family members are Melanie’s sons Tommy Sabrsula and Gary Sabrsula; daughter Karen Dorsten; sister Ruth Ann Lampson; brother Lloyd Mikeska; grandchildren who lovingly called her “Meme”, Harvest LaFrance and Joseph Lizotte, Veneise & Jessie Villali, Dwayne and Loran Sabrsula, Krissy & John Adams, Sharon and Dylan Thomas, Kimberly Grimes, Desiree Christensen and Destiny Sabrsula; and 13 Great Grand Children.

Melanie found the greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and you were sure to hear about at least 3 of them if you ever got into a conversation with her.  She’d be found in the stands at all the great grandkids sporting events, cheering them on with matching team earrings to show her support.  She was the designated floral design artist in the family for weddings and homecoming mums.  She would have her bags packed for a cross county road trip with or for her grandkids before she even knew where she was going or how long she’d be gone and just loved being a part of every event that she could to show how much she loved them.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 5^th at Willie B Events & Venue in East Bernard to celebrate the wonderful life she lived with all of her family and friends.
