Edwin William Kostka

November 9, 1952 — July 17, 2024

Wharton

Edwin (Bill) William Kostka Jr’s fight with cancer ended July 17, 2024 when he went home to the One who created him. Bill is now seeing Jesus face to face and witnessing Heaven it all it’s glory.

Bill was born November 9, 1952 in Wharton, Texas to Edwin and Clara (Rachunek) Kostka who preceded him in death.

Bill is survived by sisters Becky Ermis (Larry) of Bryan, Texas, Barbara Bonham (David) of Caldwell, Texas and brother James Kostka (Margaret) of Wharton along with niece, Robyn Jones (Chad) of Bryan, Texas and nephew Bryan Ermis (Lorrie) of Bryan, Texas, great nieces Becca Keefer, Molly Keefer, Adrianna Lyons (Jack) and Everlie Ermis and great nephew Greyson Ermis.

Bill was a quiet and meek man but possessed a fierce work ethic that was taught to him by his parents. He went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation very early in life and retired from there 20 years ago. His family is grateful to God for giving him those retirement years to enjoy life. Yet Bill never stopped setting his alarm for 3:45 am. He continued to rise each morning as he did for work and kept himself busy either with his own property or helping a friend in need. He was always the first one at the donut shop every morning. In fact he made the coffee for them just to help them out while they were busy frying their donuts.

Bill’s loving and respectful devotion to his mother in her last days was so appreciated by family. His family’s love and devotion to him in his last days came easy as he had already set the bar for how it’s done.

We will miss you, Bill has we try to carry on with life but will always remember all the lessons you taught us in your quiet devotion to the Lord and to us all.

Bill had requested that he have no funeral service so if you all can remember him in your hearts as the sweet, quiet, God fearing, hardworking gentleman that he was, that will be respect and remembrance enough for him.

Rest in peace, Bill, until we all meet again in that mansion that God’s grace has waiting for us who have put our trust and faith in Him.
